Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Habilitate Club — British Aviation Heritage, Worn & Lived.
What is Habilitate Club?
Habilitate Club is a British aviation heritage brand based in Taunton, Somerset. We design and produce custom-made apparel and collectibles celebrating the forgotten heroes of British aviation history — from the experimental delta wings of the Avro 707 to the supersonic dreams of the Hawker P.1121. This is more than a shop. It is a community of people who look up. You can read our full story on the About Us page.
Where are you based?
We are a small, independent team working from Taunton in the heart of Somerset. This corner of England has deep aviation roots, from Yeovil's helicopter heritage to the test programmes that once flew over West Country skies. We are proud to design, research, and dispatch every order from here.
What makes your products different from other aviation merchandise?
Walk into most aviation gift shops and you will see the same handful of names: Spitfire, Lancaster, Concorde. Magnificent aircraft, certainly, but only a fraction of the story. We focus on the overlooked — the testbeds, prototypes, and pioneering machines that paved the way for legends. Every design is researched from technical drawings and archive records, then illustrated with care. When you buy from Habilitate Club, you are carrying a piece of engineering heritage forward.
How are your products made?
Every item is custom made to order. We do not hold vast warehouses of stock. Instead, we work with trusted production partners to print, embroider, and assemble each piece individually once you place your order. This approach allows us to offer a wide range of designs without waste, and ensures that every garment is made fresh for its new owner. It also means we can maintain strict quality standards across our entire collection.
Which aircraft do you feature?
Our collection grows carefully and thoughtfully. We currently feature designs celebrating the Avro 707, Hawker P.1121, Bristol Sycamore, English Electric P.1B, BAC 221, and others. Each series takes months of research before it reaches the shop. If you have a favourite British aircraft you would love to see, please contact us — enthusiast suggestions often shape what we release next.
How do I choose the right size?
We know how important fit is, especially when you are ordering a piece you plan to wear to airshows and museums for years to come. Every apparel product page includes a detailed size guide with measurements in both inches and centimetres. If you are between sizes or unsure, please email us with your chest and length measurements. We would rather spend ten minutes getting it right than have you receive something that does not feel perfect.
How long will my order take to arrive?
Because every item is custom made to order, please allow 5 to 10 working days for production before dispatch. Once shipped, UK orders typically arrive within 2 to 3 working days. International orders vary by destination, generally arriving within 5 to 14 working days depending on customs and local postal services. You will receive a tracking notification as soon as your order leaves our production partner.
How much does shipping cost?
We offer free UK delivery on orders over £50. For orders below that threshold, standard UK shipping is charged at a flat rate shown at checkout. International shipping is calculated automatically based on your location and the weight of your items. All costs are displayed clearly before you complete your purchase — no hidden fees.
Can I return or exchange an item?
Yes. If your item does not fit or you change your mind, you may return it within 30 days of delivery, provided it is unworn, unwashed, and in its original condition. Please initiate your return through our standard Shopify returns process, or contact us directly if you encounter any difficulty. We would rather sort things out personally than leave you wrestling with an automated system. Custom or personalised items cannot be returned unless faulty.
What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?
We take great care with every order, but mistakes can happen. If your item arrives damaged, misprinted, or incorrect in any way, please email us immediately with a photograph and your order number. We will arrange a replacement or refund at no cost to you. Your satisfaction matters more than policy.
Can I suggest a new aircraft for your collection?
Absolutely. This is one of our favourite types of message. Is there a forgotten British prototype you adore? An obscure testbed that changed aviation history? A civil airliner from the golden age of British commercial flight? Let us know via our contact page. Our design pipeline is driven by passion, and many of our current releases began life as enthusiast recommendations.
Do you offer gift cards?
Not at present, though we are considering adding them. If you would like to purchase Habilitate Club items as a gift, we recommend browsing our collections and placing a direct order. Many customers order for fellow pilots, historians, and aviation enthusiasts — the look on a modeller's face when they unwrap a Hawker P.1121 hoodie is something rather special.
How should I care for my Habilitate Club apparel?
To keep your garment looking its best, we recommend washing inside out at 30°C with similar colours. Avoid tumble drying where possible — air drying preserves both the fabric and the print. Do not iron directly over printed areas. These simple steps will ensure your aviation heritage piece stays vivid and comfortable for years of wear.
Do you offer wholesale or collaborate with museums?
We are open to conversations with aviation museums, historical societies, heritage groups, and select retailers who share our respect for British aviation history. Please email us with a brief outline of your proposal. We are selective because we want every partnership to feel authentic to our brand and respectful of the heritage we represent.
How can I stay updated on new releases?
The best way is to join our mailing list. We send occasional emails featuring new aircraft collections, behind-the-scenes design stories, and British aviation history features. You can sign up in the footer of any page. We do not spam, and we never share your details. Alternatively, follow us on Instagram and Pinterest for visual updates and community photographs.
I am a content creator or journalist. Can I feature Habilitate Club?
We would be delighted. If you are writing about British aviation heritage, obscure aircraft, or aviation fashion, we are happy to provide high-resolution images, background information, design notes, or quotes for your piece. Please reach out through our contact page. We believe the more these aircraft stories are told, the better.
How do I contact you directly?
Please email hello@habilitate.club and we will do our best to respond within two working days. We are a small team, so we appreciate your patience, but we read every message personally. For order enquiries, kindly include your order number in the subject line. You can also find us on Instagram and Pinterest. Visit our Contact Us page for full details.
